Sunday August 13 Bike Ride

The I Scream For Ice Cream bike ride is this Sunday in Edwardsville. Options include 20,33, and 45 miles. Anyone interested two loops?

I'm in for a double loop on Sunday. I think a 20 loop followed by the 45 loop would be a good strategy. Same as last week. We'd see a variety of roads (as opposed to hitting the 33 loop twice), and we'd be on both loops with other riders. If we were REAL ambitious we could try the 33 followed by the 45, but that's a pretty long day. I might could do it, but maybe the 20-45 is a better choice. I still think ROLLING by 7:30 is a good strategy.

I'm in for a double loop on Sunday, but I prefer minimizing the riding on the Madison County Trails. The problem with the 20 mile route is that it will be a lot on the trail and probably through Edwardsville. I prefer riding the country roads as much as possible. When we get there, we can look at the map and determine a route which might be the 33 or part of the 45 without going on the trail or through town twice. They are starting this ride at a bad place right where they are doing road construction on 159. When they scheduled the start point they might have thought this construction was going to be done. I can offer another alternative if anyone is interested. We could start at my house, bike to the ride, do the 45 mile ride and then bike some additional miles/different route back to my house. I plan on biking to the ride anyway. I live in Maryville about 9 miles from the start point.

I'm good with the 33 followed by the 45. I just don't want to make it a 7 hour affair. I'll be ready to roll by 7:15 - 7:30. If we can knock out the 33 miles by 9:15 or 9:30 that would be good. Then 3 hours to do the 45 miles, and we would be done around 12:30.

Sorry about the double post. I'm also good with meeting at Greg's house and doing the 9 to the ride and then the 45, followed by 9-20 after the ride if Greg can get the route nailed down. Whatever is easier. Maybe just doing the 33 / 45 is easier for a group, but I'm game either way.

If anyone wants to call me to double check, try me at 314-239-6229

I'm planning on doing the Sunday BFC ride but Suzette will be riding so I need to start at their route.

Cheri, Amanda, and Melina will be doing this ride so I also need to start at BFC route start. Registration is scheduled to start at 7:30. I am planning to leave my house at around 6:30. I will meet Ron and any others starting at the Target store parking lot about 7:30. You can reach me at 314-704-5626.

I'll keep it simple too. I'll be at the BFC start and should be ready to roll at 7:30. It's pretty flat out there, so we should be able to knock out the 33 loop in 2 hours or less. Then the 45 afterwards in around 3 hours would be a great day.
