I've owned three and they were all giro's. I like the way they fit with the adjustable sizing in the back, plus I like their styling.
But for the most part I think any name brand helmet should be pretty good, and they all have adjustable sizing.
It's probably a matter of personal style choice in most cases. I'd also say the more vents the better for the most part, but the more vents, the more money. Lighter weight is a bit of an issue in longer rides (100 miles +), but not that big a deal. Again more money.
The "compare" feature on performance on-line may be of some help too.
I also like the Giro. I recently bought an off-brand for my daughter...lots of vents and adjustable back, but the way the strap is inside the helmet is not user-friendly.
