Rides this week (8-24 to 8-29) and weekend

Hello all,

I'm looking to see if anyone has any rides planned for this week during the week? I can't ride the Wednesday night fun club ride, so that is out for me.

Also, my work week is hectic, so don't go out of your way to plan for me.

I might see if I can join the North County ride that Paul Kitka, Ron Bookout and all do. Anything else happening Tuesday evening?

Wednesday AM I have a maybe for the morning. Don't John J and Bill P do a ride Wednesday mornings? Also, what about Dr. Dan? Is there still a ride he does each Wednesday AM?

Thursday evening is a maybe for me too.

Saturday (8-28) I'm not sure how my day will turn out. Part of the day will be Amanda's Bat Mitzvah.

Sunday (8-29) I am looking for something in the 40-50 mile range. Maybe a ride that can be part medium hard (maybe to Roark's or to the Kirkwoood hills area), and then on the way home through Forest Park and such. I'm hoping the second half of my Sunday ride can be a pretty easy pace and maybe meet Lynda for the last 25 miles of the day. We could also see about the whole day being maybe on the medium / easier side and maybe going to coffee at some place like Mississippi Mud or similar.

Let me (us) know your plans,

Mike and Lynda,

Weekend Ride Plans

Folks,

I am off to Los Angeles till Friday.  Once I get back I am up for some weekend riding.

Saturday Plans:  40-50 Miles Starting From My House at 8:30 am.  I am thinking the Hills of Kirkwood then over to Cherokee Street for snacks:  Black Bear Bakery or Missippi Mud.

Sunday Plans: 40-50 Miles  Miles Starting From My House at 8:30 am.  I am thinking out to St. Charles ala New Town.  Snack stop at either Crooked Tree or the new Coffee House/Bike Repair Store.

I am of course open to alternative discussions.

Weather Looks to have moderated by then with Highs of just 90F.

Sad Partings Ride Weekend

Ok Folks,

I am looking for local easy riding this weekend.

Sunday 9:30 am, Joseph aka the Spawn flies out for USC.  So Saturday I am looking for an early easy short ride from my house just in case he chooses to spend time his last Saturday with us instead of with his friends.

Sunday, I am looking for a  lick the wounds ride starting late afternoon, just to get out and forget Joseph has left. Maybe some coffee and some city loops in the heat.

Charlie Brinkmeyer's 83rd Birthday Ride

This weekend is Charlie Brinkmeyer's 83rd birthday ride. This year he is doing 83 miles in two days instead of one day. The ride will be at 8:30 starting by the Culver's in Collinsville on both Friday and Saturday.
Sunday is the I Scream for Ice Cream ride starting in Collinsville. If anyone is interested in this ride and would like to do more than the long route (42 miles), I can suggest several different starting points to get additional miles: my house for 16 more miles, Culver's in Collinsville for 22 more miles, Horseshoe Lake for 30 more miles or the end of Schoolhouse trail for 38 more miles.

Sunday Ride 8-8-10

Instead of doing the Trailnet ride in Mascoutah we are proposing a closer to home option.
We are looking for riders to do a Creve Couer Park to Per Marquet ride Sunday. So far we have Paul Kikta, John Janro and me. The wife's will be doing a shorter friendlier route.
Could be around a 60 miler.
Start around 8:00.
