First tracking of Mike

Yeah!!! A new message for him just popped up on the screen and it looks like he ended up departing at 10:30 instead of 9:30 or 10:00. This explains a lot. I'm hoping the numbers turn to green as he passes through them and before he gets to the actual checkpoint. This is really, really exciting!!!! Yeah!!! Gosh, maybe we should all be at Kaldi's having a tracking party!!! My adrenaline is pretty high right now as you can tell.

Thanks,
Lynda b.

About 11:00 our time Tuesday. I don't speak or read French but I think Mike's completed or at least in the 3rd stage now. So far, so good. I can't tell if their server can't handle the traffic or if my company's firewall interrupts things.

Anybody have any additional info?

Go, Mike!

Lynda sent me a message to post to the blog. Here it is....

I don't have internet access at work and my blackberry won't pick up the blog
page. Would you mind posting this for me if you have a minute please?

Mike just left a message at 10:36am STLtime (5:36pm (Paris time) and said he is
at 196km and he is going to try to make it to 300km before quitting at Ludeac
(spelling?). He thinks it will take him until about 1am (Paris time) so about
6pm our time.

He is running behind schedule because of headwinds but hopes to ride out of
them. Here are his riding conditions:

Raining more than 1/2 the time.
Riding into headwinds and crosswinds
Has a lot of clothing on but needs it
Will be tired when he gets to Ludeac.

He is going to try to call me tonight when he stops but asked me to send this
info out to his friends. Hopefully I'll be able to tell him tonight that it
appears we can only track him when he finishes a stage since he made a reference
that everyone probably already knows where he is.

Will write more later especially if we are able to talk.

Thanks,
Lynda B.
