Weekend Rides Jan 5th and 6th

Folks,

It looks like the weather is going to be beautifull this weekend with temps in the 50s and 60s for Saturday & Sunday. The only downside is its going to be windy with winds at 15 - 25 mph.

Sunday I plan to do the ride Mark has been pushing thats starts from the Taco Bell Shelther at Creve Coeur Lake at 10:00 am. Depending on what I hear, I will either start from my house, the Lopatin's or Creve Coeur Lake.

Saturday is still open. I would like to start from my house. An 11:00 am start time would work giving me time to attend a bit of synogogue in the early part of the morning. I would be willing to move the start up to 10:00 am. I was thinking of doing one of the routes that passes through Kirkwood.

Hope to hear your thoughts.

Where are you riding from the Taco Bell Shelter on Sunday?

The ride Mark plans for Sunday at 10:00 am is around Creve Coeur Lake, then out to the bridge into St. Charles. Once over the bridge, depending on how our young and new riders feel we will either ride over to Crooked Tree Coffee House or back to the restaurant at Creve Coeur Lake.

A bit of synagogue? What the hell is that? Something like a spot of tea?

The ride on Sunday will be Nancy Le Claire's first bike ride on her new road bike. The idea is to keep it simple yet exciting so she has a positive experience. I do not know when the last time was she rode a bike. Keep it short, simple, positive so she will come back. Plus she might be a new team members on Roark's MS 150 Team. It could happen.

The thing about a spot of tea is it goes great with a scone and clotted cream, on the other hand nothing makes synogogue go down easier.

Joseph is reading Torah, and Samantha is leading Shacrete. I was told my kids portion will be done by 10:00 am if I plan to attend.

Roark, I am the floor gabbai in the morning so I guarantee you an aliyah when Joe reads his Torah portion. We will call it the Cycling Aliyah to perpetually honor you.

I am unworthy of an aliyah honor.

Is this still a cycling blog? Hard to tell. I'm not sure if I'm cycling, drinking tea, praising Halleluha or going to Synagogue. Can I do all four and still be in the group?

Brian, I know you think my beer drinking is the key to my cycling. Well, I wanted to let you know that in the past 2 months I think I found the tipping point where too much beer means you become a slug and don't want to ride. Working on finding "balance" ASAP.

I plan to ride both Saturday and Sunday. Sunday I'm going to go out to Kaldis and join Dr. Dan for the ride he has posted on Gus' Gang. Hope I don't get my legs kicked.

Saturday I'm all up for a ride leaving from Roark's house at either 10 or 11 - just confirm the time please. If you leave from Roark's house that would be great - I'd probably ride from my house. If you leave from Creve Coeur lake, please post that too as I'd need to drive out to the start. I'll check the blog in the AM to see what the real plan is.

Mike,

Saturday the departure time from my house is 11:00 am. You could easily ride from your house to mine is you start from your house at 10:00 am.

Roark's house at 11:00 works for me...that will give me a chance to take down my christmas lights this morning.

Mike, I will bring the saddle I owe you.
