Sunday June 8th Ride

Folks,

These last two weeks have certainly given us a jump start on getting those hill climbing legs back for the Blue Ridge. Our weekly miles have increased, our elevations have increased, even our wet time on the bike has increased.

We are in the count down to our trip now!

I am proposing choosing one of two rides for this Sunday:

1.) We ride the Calhoun County Century!

2.) We attemp one more time my 100 miles of hills ride!

Let me know your thoughts so we can put together a starting time and plan.

Comments on Sundays Ride So Far:

I'm up for the 100 miles of hills. Does that start at your house, or
Kaldi's in the valley, or either? I'll try and ride from my house either
way.

A little ahead of schedule for me. I'm slowly mending and the 100 miles of hills are too much for me right now. Dan and I haven't even done a century yet this year. How tough is the Calhoun County ride(I think I've done it before)? (I've also been slighty reserved because my Michelle is now riding with me. And she is progressing very quickly.) As usual, I'll flex my time/ride towards Dan's availability.

It just dawned on me, Michelle took the weekend off for the TdCure. Does the Calhoun ride have a shortened version? She would probably prefer 50-75 miles.

Let us know as soon as you get a concensus.

Mike: The 100 miles of hills starts at my house, but since its a circuit, you can hop on anywhere along the way.

Rick: I really dont know of a good bail point in Calhoun County other then just turning around and back tracking when you have half the miles you want. Warning: Calhoun County is less hilly then the 100 miles, but there are really big climbs never the less.

Who else is riding Tour De Cure?
I will probably do the 100 miles
Saturday so I won't have much left for Sunday.
If I ride Sunday I'll just do part of the ride.

Ron,

I was supposed to ride, but being gone the last two weekends, its my turn on Saturday to be available if my son needs me for logistics for the 48 Hour Film Festival. I know that Bill is riding the Tour De Cure, as is Rick and Dan.

OK...just to confirm the details of tomorrows ride. I just talked to Roark and we're going to see how much of the 100 miles of hills we can get in.
Ride starts at Roarks at 8:00.
