Rides Saturday May 19th and Sunday May 20th

Folks,

I plan to ride next Sunday the Fun Club's Berry Bicycle Ride & Strawberry Festival as an easy jaunt of 20 or 28 miles with my spawn Joseph. I will probably see most of you at the start and finish for Strawberrys and Ice Cream.

That leaves Saturday open for some challenging riding. So lets talk options

i) First of the Season Calhoun County Century....

ii) First of the Season attempt to actually complete all of the 100 Miles of Hill Route( its never been done to date)

iii) You tell me your suggestion....

For option 3 - How about you all join me for the 400k brevet that starts at 5am on the 19th in Edwardsville? I'm sure it will be great, especially with 10-12 of us.

Whatever you all choose, have fun.

I kind of think I'll be at the Trailnet ride, but also kind of think I'll bail. The 400k is likly to last until 11pm, midnight, or longer. If we're real lucky, maybe 10PM.

I really enjoy the Strawberry ride and don't want to miss it, so I'm still on a wait and see. If I'm there it would be for a slow recovery ride just to spin the legs, and get the practice of riding right behind a long day of riding. Maybe go for the short or medium ride at a moderate pace.

If I have to bail on the ride, maybe I'll come our for the strawberries and brats.

Talk to you all soon,

Mike

I think I can wait for another option number 3. You can always ride with the group bringing kids on Sunday. I am figuring 11 mph avg pace with my son.

I will be doing the Strawberry ride with Amanda on Sunday. She is going for either the 42 or the 54 mile route. This will be the real beginning of her MS 150 training. If she is able, she wants to do the 100 mile option the first day of the MS 150!

There is just one word for Amanda doing the long ride, COOL! Even more cool that she wants to do a century for the MS150.

I probably will not be riding this weekend. I will be at the synagogue almost all weekend. Enjoy the ride on Sunday.

Sorry if this posts twice. I'm inept at blogging.

I'll be on the Sunday ride, long route. Saturday I'm unavailable. I have Primerica classroom training in the morning (sometimes I can skip). I also have a family luncheon for my Nephew, a newly graduated Aerospace Engineer from Rolla.

Mike...good luck on the 400K

It doesn't look like we have a cycling quorom to attempt either of the two centuries. Instead I will be leaving my house about 9:00 am to do the St. Charles to Crooked Tree for breakfast. Then over to Hog Hollow, and ownward to climb Marshall Hill and West Adams. Somewhere along the route I am sure we will run into some of the Hub group.
