Ride For Saturday May 11th

Looking ahead to this Saturday, if it doesn't rain, the weather looks to be excellent, no tights!

So here is my thought, a city ride with some hills thrown in! We will loop through Clayton, Kirkwood, Webster Groves, The Hill, Soulard, Riverfront, Downtown, and Forest Park. Tentative start time 10 am from my house.

Some of the hills to keep building on last week include:

The climb from N Ballas up West Adams into Kirkwood.

We will tour the Hill to climb a Hill

Lastly don't forget that lovely short climb up Washington Ave from the Riverfront

I should be in. Ballas to West Adams has got some great rollers, and then a good steady climb into Kirkwood. If you can run that stretch with some sustained effort, it's pretty good steady effort training for places like Colorado. Not too many lights in that section either, so we can usually keep moving.

On the home stretch back to Roark's house we can work in climbing Art Hill, or the hill to the Upper MUNY lot, or both.

I'm in....and looking forward to that 72 degree weather, without the rain.

We may need to watch out for downtown, as there is a parade going on down there for St. Patrick's Day.

The parade starts at noon on Broadway and Market and runs West. I think when we come into the Soulard area down by the Brewery we should be able to get East of the Parade. Worst case we have to walk a bit around the stadium to get down by the arch. I don't think it will be too bad. Once we are down by the arch it should be OK on over to Washington Avenue and back West. Where a green jersey.
