Blooming Ride - First Weekend In April

Folks,

March is on the way out, cold, rain, wind will be a thing of the past.  April will be nothing but temperate conditions, with a heavy dose of pollen!

Here is the forcast for the coming weekend, its a great one.

Apr 3 Saturday

Mostly Cloudy. Highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s.

Apr 4 Sunday

Considerable cloudiness. Highs in the low 70s and lows in the low 50s.
So lets plan to ride.  Its time to do the Hills of Kirkwood this coming Saturday.  Then we can ride out to Crooked Tree on Sunday.  If you dont like those plans, suggest something, the point is, LETS RIDE!

Roark and all,

I'm not 100% sure what my plans are for the weekend. Here are some notes on my riding / ideas:

This past weekend Tom and I started our brevet series for 2010. This is "early training" for Paris-Brest-Paris 2011 for both of us. We managed to squeeze in 127 miles Saturday in 7 hours 42 minutes. Thanks to Tom, this was a new personal best for me at this distance.

Our next brevet will probably be April 10 - 185+ miles that day. If anyone wants to come out and give brevets a try let me know. There is also a 200k (126 miles) ride going out that same day, and much of the 200k and 300k route are the same.

April 2 I am working a half day. I'd like to get in an afternoon ride. Odds are Tom and I will hook up in the afternoon and get around 45-50 miles in.

April 3 - I am pretty tied up with family and work. I might fit in a ride around 1:00 - but I doubt it.

April 4 - I'd love to ride this day. I have family / church keeping me busy till probably around 2:00 or so, but I'd love to ride after that.

That next week I'll just try and squeeze in some evening rides or hit the trainer.

April 10 is the first shot at 300k (185 miles) for the season. There is another 300k going out April 17. I for certain will hit one or the other if not both.

Take care,

Mike

Family stuff in the afternoon.
Mike,
I might try the 200K on the 10th...but not planning on the whole series. Wow, you guys are hitting it hard!

Ron,

Tom and I would love to have some company Saturday if you are still thinking about the 200k. I think the 200 and the 300 roll out together that morning, but I am not 100% sure. And I'm pretty sure the routes are similar at least for the first few hours, if not longer.

Talk to you soon,

Mike
