Creakkkkkkkkkk...........

Thats the sound your knees are making from lack of use. What's become of all the spandax clad folks I used to cycle with? Spring can't be that far away, so if its too cold to cycle, get on those spinning bikes.

Lets start to hear suggestions for spring rides! Summer rides! Fall rides!

Do you get the pictue, bicycle rides!

Till then you can join me at the J, where this weekend, Saturday I spun for two hours , and Sunday I spun for an hour and did weights on legs for the next hour.

Don't forget Mark is making plans for a week long bicycle ride in Maine this Summer. Right now I think its only three of us.

Roark and all,

My knees are fine and well rested. It's my expanding waist line that worries me. I've never been able to punish myself by riding indoors but have been known to venture outside when it's a little too cold for most. This has been a tough winter for cycling in St. Louis. I'm chomping at the bit.

I don't think I can get away for any week long rides. Something like the Horsey Hundred in Kentucky and the Hilly Hundred in Indiana would suit me better.

Thanks for the inspiration. Just got off the trainer for a joyous 1 hour 15 minute spin. Not too bad. Slowly getting my act together this last couple of weeks.

Can't wait for March weather. I know Tom and I will be out some March weekends, even if weather is not perfect. We are hoping to be ready for a 200k ride March 27 I think. This week, mostly spinning for me. Week after that vacation (but hopefully spinning and hiking on vacation). I should be able to hit the outdoor cycle by March 5th or 6th.

I am still fairly interested in that 100 mile ride down in Alabama. Also in some version of Chicago maybe too. Spring will be a lot of concentration on Brevets.
Lastly, Tom and I are considering a 1000k ride around Kansas City too (in June). The ride we thought about in Virginia is probably out.

See ya soon,

Mike

Ya....really tough winter for cycling. I'm trying to do the trainer thing but it's tough to get motivated. On the plus side my guitar playing has really improved.

I'll be going to Southern California for almost two weeks in march and bringing my bike.
There's a century ride in Solvang close to Santa Barbara I'm going to try and do on march 13th. I hear it's one of the best rides in California.
